Question: What Korean dishes can I eat if I can't handle spicy food?

I've received a few emails asking about how to modify Korean dishes to tone down the spice and others asking which Korean dishes have no chili peppers.

Answer: YES! There are many Korean dishes that have no chili peppers like:
But even spicy Korean dishes like Taktoritang can be modified for people that dislike spicy foods or can't handle the peppers for health reasons. Although the spiciness adds a layer of flavor to many Korean meals, there is still wonderful depth to most dishes even when you omit the chili peppers. Chili peppers weren't even introduced to the Korean peninsula until the 17th century, so you can think of yourself as eating the real "old school" Korean.
